Gradings

Like many martial arts, we have gradings: yellow belt, orange, green, blue, brown and black.

We train bare foot on the mat, although you can wear socks if you wish. For that reason, you might find it useful to have flip-flops that can be left at the edge of the mat, as we never step on the mat with our shoes or walk bare foot on the floor.

What are the Training Costs?

Lesson Charges

Your first lesson is free; thereafter from the first full calendar month it is £30 per month by Standing Order.

This is used for the hire of the practise hall (dojo) and to cover costs.

The instructors or coaches are not paid for teaching.

Membership

After 3 sessions, you will need to pay an annual membership fee.

This costs £10 per year, which covers your membership with the British Aikido Board (BAB) and insurance.

Clothing

Initially we recommend you wear comfortable clothes, typically a track suit and t-shirt.

After a few sessions, you'll want to get a Judo suit (Gi) with a white belt. These can be bought from large sports shops or martial arts shops for around £30-£40
