Summer School 2017

This year, the Summer School will be held in Bridport, Dorset, from Saturday 22nd July to Wednesday 26th July 2017. This is open to all members of the organisation.


What is it?

The Summer School is an opportunity to practise with other members of the organisation, with training each day for 5 consecutive days. There will be 2 to 4 hours of practise each day, hosted by our Bridport club, and taught by Sensei Phil Bolt, 5th Dan. You can take part in any or all of the practise.


Training will take place at:-
Bridport Leisure Centre
Skilling Hill Road

Note: Practise may take place outdoors at the Camp Eden campsite (West Milton, DT6 3SL) on occasion, if weather permits.

Lesson Times

  • Saturday 22nd July 15:00 to 17:00, followed by a meal at the Stables (DT6 3LF).
  • Sunday 23rd July 10:00 to 13:00, followed by a meal at the 3 Horseshoes Inn (DT6 3TF).
  • Monday 24th Aug 12:00 to 14:00 and 15:00 to 17:00, followed by a meal at West Bay.
  • Tuesday 25th Aug 10:00 to 12:00 and 13.00 to 15.00, followed by a meal.
  • Wednesday 26th Aug 11:00 to 13:00.


Training costs will be £7 per hour on a train-as-you-go basis, or £95 in total (or £40 for the weekend).

If you've already paid a deposit of £10, then the remaining cost is £75.

These costs are the training costs, and do not include accommodation or food/drink.
