Summer School 2019

This year, the Summer School will be held in Swindon, from Saturday 22nd June to Wednesday 26th June 2019. This is open to all members of the organisation.

What is it?

The Summer School is an opportunity to practise with other members of the organisation, with training each day for 5 consecutive days. There will be 2 to 4 hours of practise each day, hosted by our Swindon club, and taught by Sensei Phil Bolt, 5th Dan. You can take part in any or all of the practise.

The annual Black Belt gradings will also take place, on the Sunday morning, and there will be 4 candidates for 1st Dan, and 1 candidate for 2nd Dan.

Lesson Times & Suggested Activities

Note the costs refer only to the Aikido practise!
  • Saturday 22nd June 13:00 to 16:00 (£20), in the upstairs room.
    Evening meal at Fabio's (Italian) Restaurant, Old Town, Swindon, SN1 4AS, from 6pm.

  • Sunday 23rd June 9:30 to 12:30 (free of charge) in the main hall for the Black Belt gradings, and 13:30 to 16:00 (£15) in the squash court for everyone to practise.
    Visit to the Red Lion in Avebury (SN8 1RF) for an evening meal from 7pm.

  • Monday 24th June 10:00 to 12 noon (£15), and 13:00 to 15:00 (£15) in the squash court.
    Visit to Bristol Observatory & Clifton Down in Bristol.

  • Tuesday 25th June 10:00 to 13:00 (£20) in the squash court.
    Regular lesson 19:30 to 21:00 in the squash court (£5).

  • Wednesday 26th June 10:00 to 13:00 (£20) in the squash court.


Training costs will be £90 in total, or individual lessons as stated.

These costs are the training costs, and do not include accommodation or food/drink.
